In fiction, Frayler Academy is a school founded by the character Jim Frayne, from the Trixie Belden Mystery series. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll recall it was Jim’s dream to run a school for orphan boys styled in an alternative school manner that combined the love of the outdoors with education and other life skills. The name is a combination of the last names of Jim’s two fathers. His birth father – Winthrop Frayne and the man who adopted him at the age of fifteen – Matthew Wheeler. “Fray” for Frayne and “ler” from Wheeler. Both men deserve credit for what made the man he grew up to be, hence Jim's decision to name his school after both men.
In reality, Frayler Academy is a fan fiction website for fans of the Trixie Belden mystery series. To this day, I remain uncertain how I found myself with a website of writings and stories centered around the particular teen sleuth, but however it came about, what you see and read here is what remains.
Why Trixie Belden fanfic? Perhaps because like good entertainment, the authors of the series left me wanting more. The end of the series, could be a new beginning, or just that feeling when completing a good book where you wonder what came next. These stories are my thoughts and takes on what came next. You'll find that my stories follow what's known in the fanfic community as traditional pairings. Although, for myself, I soon discovered that not all fan fiction is created equally. After reading some very well-written fan fiction I’ve learned to appreciate any entertaining story regardless of pairings, sexual orientations, or time period. The appreciation of reading is credited to authors who convince readers that what is transpiring on the page (or computer screen) is actually happening in real life. That is my goal, to make the story something you both enjoy and believe.
Happy Reading!
